Rosco Supports National School Bus Safety Week

Queens, NY - October 16, 2012 – Rosco, Inc. joins The National School Transportation Association (NSTA), the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) and school districts throughout the country in promoting School Bus Safety Week from October 15th to the 19th. The special week commemorates the safe service that school buses provide to families, as they provide the safest mode of transportation for children. Rosco is the largest supplier of rearview mirror, backup cameras, sun visors and integrated vision safety systems to the North American School Bus market.

“Rosco’s innovative rearview mirrors and backup camera systems keep school children safe and secure because the bus driver will always know what’s going on around the vehicle.” said Peter Plate, Director of Sales and Marketing.

Approximately 22.5 million or 54 percent of all K-12 students ride School Buses to and from school in the US. This year’s safety week theme is “I see the driver and the driver sees me!” Rosco provides the rearview mirrors, cross view mirrors and backup camera systems that are vital for School Bus Safety to manufacturers in the school bus market. To support the efforts of the NAPT and School Bus Safety Week, Rosco will be exhibiting at the NAPT Annual Summit in Memphis, Tennessee from October 19th through October 25th. For over 25 years Rosco has been supporting the NAPT’s vision to provide safe and efficient pupil transportation for our children.

With safety a priority in student transportation, backing up the yellow school bus can be a precarious undertaking. The combination of limited visibility and the need to maneuver around students, pedestrians and other vehicles has the potential for disaster. The goal for all Rosco Vision integrated vision systems is to improve the safety for drivers, passengers and pedestrians.
