NYS Amendment for Commercial Vehicles

Rosco backup safety cameras have helped our customers save money on liability, maintenance, and operations. Our cameras also allow our customers to be more efficient, with the ability to view those dangerous blind spots, including areas directly behind the vehicle. Safety backup cameras have come down in price dramatically with their recent popularity, BUT you may not know that they are no longer a luxury to fleets.

NYS has amended the Vehicle and Traffic Laws Article 9 Section 375 Subsection 10.e and now requires truck boxes/bodies between eight and eighteen feet in length, along with single-unit delivery vehicles such as parcel/package trucks, to install a mirror, video, or object detection device that allows the driver to see objects directly behind the vehicle.
